Ever have an insane urge to reuse your content and make some money off of it?
Okay, true, that’s like asking, ever have an insane urge to transport hordes of tantruming, screaming children in the movies for which you just bought tickets so you can relax and enjoy a peaceful, quite time….. to a land far, far away?
Sure you have! And so have I. Let me now share with you some of my personal ideas regarding this exciting topic…perhaps you’ll find it useful as well.
Make Money Way 1 – Re-post your old blog articles
If you blog once a week, that means you have 52 posts by the end of the year. Blog once a day, and you have 364 (more or less) articles of super high-quality goodness!
As the weeks roll by, those brilliant collections of must-read tips and ideas fall by the wayside and get buried under your more present articles. And that’s just plain and simple a cryin’ shame!
If your article is timeless (ie, it’s not about what you did that day, instead it focuses on your niche and is useful year ’round), you can simply update the timestamp and add an intro like so:
"I wrote this back in 1938 but find the ideas presented to be just as relevant today! What do YOU think?"
You can even add a paragraph or two with additional tips! Voila – new content that will still engage your readers and continue to show them you walk the walk you talk.
Next, let’s consider:
Make Money Way 2 – Take your best post, paste it into Microsoft Word, pdf-ize it and offer it as a free report
You always want to get people to sign up for your newsletter, right? If so, offer them an incentive – create a free report that’s automatically sent out once they sign up.
The benefit here is because the post was already written, you have the material RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! And because Microsoft Word will copy the formatting as well, it should look rather nifty indeed when you paste it into your blank document (make certain to add relevant headers and footers too, of course).
Once that’s completed, you can put an optin form on your site (much like the
Stay Ahead of Your Competitors!
thingee you see in my right side sidebar (it takes you to my Free Income Fitness sample) and then tweet about it. Ask for reviews! etc.etc.etc.
That idea, of course, leads us to:
Make Money Way 3 – Take your best SERIES of posts, paste it into Microsoft Word, pdf-ize it and sell it as an ebook
Some people prefer to have content RIGHT THEN AND THERE and don’t want to hunt around for the resources.
Time is Money! In that case, you can write a 7 day or 3 week or 1 month series of tutorial posts and then bundle them into an ebook and sell it online.
When you do so, remember to build an affiliate marketing tutorial as well to help OTHERS sell your ebook too.
From there, let’s take a bold leap to:
Make Money Way 4 – Distill your posts into 28 easy-to-follow snippets and create and sell an eClass or eSeminar online
I’ve been doing this myself since 2006 at my RISE Internet Recruiting eSeminars!
All you need is an autoresponder (you have one, of course, right? It’s KEY to making money online) and the ability to add the 28, 31, 56 etc. messages that are involved. And because you’ve already written the content in the past, this should be a relatively easy thing to do indeed!
Next? Lessee….ah yes! You can:
Make Money Way 5 – Create videos of you demonstrating your tips
This is something that’s on my plate! You probably execute the same techniques hour after hour…so why not use Camtasia to record a video of you walking the walk, add the appropriate sound/music/etc., and then upload it to YouTube?
Should you do so, remember…you want to close by creating the sense of urgency within the reader to visit your site/product/etc. Here’s a great resource to learn more about video marketing.
Speaking about video marketing, next gaze upon:
Making Money Way 6 – Make articles out of your old blog posts and engage in article marketing
Okay, true, that has nothing to do with video marketing, but hey, my washing machine just sweetly informed me it’s debating about dying. True, that has nothing to do with video marketing either. Oh well.
Anywhos, chalk this up to yet ANOTHER thing I have on my plate too! You can take your best blog posts (that have already been indexed in Google), change them to articles and then submit them to article directories. If so, make certain you have a great Authors Box that compels people to return back to your site!
Hey! That brings me to:
Making Money Way 7 – Podcast thyself!
How does article marketing bring me to podcasting? Easy! Both "marketing" and "podcasting" end with "-ing". So there.
Take your best content, turn it into a podcast, and then submit it to podcast directories online. Some directory listings include:
- Podcast 411
- Where to Submit Your Podcasts: Best Podcast Search Engines and Directories -
- Mini-Guide, Part 1

And finally, let’s pounce upon:
Making Money Way 8 – Turn Sections of your Blog into Premium Content
This might take some re-organizing of your blog, mind you…but if you are in the mood for continuity programs (ie, membership-based sites), you can take blog posts and re-organize them into premium paid content class mondules. Add a Membership plugin to your site, and voila – you’re now getting paid for what you had offered ‘way back for free.
So there you go:
- Make Money Way 1 – Re-post your old blog articles

All so simple that they are largely overlooked. A few days ago I reintroduced a post I wrote quite while back; for a different blog in fact. It’s gotten a good response so far and I didn’t have to change a thing.
Ironically it’s the one your commentluv is picking up, even though that’s not my last post.

Simple, as always, is best.
(btw, didja see I now offer free blog snippet reposting at the forums? tinyurl.com/dd9ooo ).
And congrats on your response!
Enjoy, Barbara
