BEWARE – There's a REASON why it costs ONLY $1.99

BewareMorning!

I just received the following email, addressed to my Virtual Coach forums.

I just paid my $1.99 to join twitter and was given a link with the user name twitter and password profits. The link did not work. I would like to know what to expect. Will I receive something in the mail? Will I receive something by email? How will I be able to login? I tried to login on this home page and that did not work either. Please advise.

Thank you,

NAME WITHHELD

This is really really very sad….so I was moved to write this post.

I’d bet you earlobes to toenails that the email in question referred to Twitter Profit House – there was quite the thread on it over at

Danger will robinson!!

You see, Twitter Profit House uses what’s called Negative Options.  In short, if you pay the $1.99 for your access, this is what happens!

Following the 7-day trial period, the credit card you submitted will automatically be charged $99.99 for monthly membership access to the Twitter Profit House Resource Center unless you cancel by calling 1-888-822-4507 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Can you believe that????

Folks, if your credit card is requested for ONLY shipping and handling or ONLY 37 cents or ONLY…..there’s a reason for that!!  ALWAYS make certain you check the Terms and Conditions – by law, they have to state how they will try to, ahem, part you from your money in the future.

Remember, wise individuals always research what sounds too good to be true.  Chances are….it is.

Enjoy,

Barbara Ling

This is the same type of scam like Google Treasure Chest.

And, they state, “…you consent to our providing your personal information to those third parties. Those third parties may use your personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies. You will need to contact those third parties to instruct them directly.”

Read the fine print. They share your personal info with third parties for magazines, sweepstakes, promotional, products and services by third parties, reward programs and more. You would end up with lots of spam.

    “Run Toto, run…”

You say that like that’s a bad thing! :)
