I’ve been looking around online and lots of sites have this thing called Commentluv on them from CommentLuv . How does this make them money?
Since today is Monday, and I now post at this blog on Mondays and Wednesdays, I figured….jeepers, it would make a spiffy topic indeed to explore! So let’s get right to it.
You have to remember that money doesn’t always have to be made TODAY. Yes, indeed, it’s more wonderful than unlimited high-octane coffee that freely cascades from your automatic coffeemaker whenever you bow down and worship the benevolent beast, but the fact remains….it doesn’t have to be made TODAY.
Why, TODAY could be spent….hmmmm….lessee…..building up your reputation, so that when people ARE intrigued by a product from your site, they’ll be much more willing to give you their money compared to some other individual online.
That’s where CommentLuv really comes in handy! You see, the premise to CommentLuv is simple. Comment at a blog (ideally, INTELLIGENTLY comment so the blog owner actually approves you comment) and you receive a deep link back to YOUR site.
So! Let’s see how this woiks. Let’s say that you were visiting, oh, jeepers, this site right here. And you saw this magnificent article about CommentLuv, and you felt compelled to add your own insights as well.
After pondering on what useful insight you could offer, you add your comment and after I approve it, it shows up on my Virtual Coach Domain….along with a one-way link back to your site.
Then! The next person who visits and reads the comments sees your thoughtfully brilliant ideas above! And quite often, they’ll be moved to click on your latest blog post to see what you’re all about as well (especially if you know how to write compelling headlines).
In other words, CommentLuv helps people find your posts and learn more about you.
How does this help you make money in the future?
Easy! When people surf about to various/sundry blogs, they start to recognize commentors names (as well as blog authors, of course). And by seeing your name and your site and your knowledge popping up more often than children flocking to the ice cream truck…your presence starts to brand itself on their minds.
Stay with me here, this is important!! Take another look at that sentence:

For me, I far prefer buying from someone who is real to me. Someone who I have literally seen Walk the Walk they Talk (ie, they’re a subject matter expert and their words prove it beyond a doubt).
If you thoughfully comment at related blogs, CommentLuv helps you prove that, again and again.
This is one way that CommentLuv can help you make money in the future.
But!
There’s another way CommentLuv can help you make money in the here and now!
And it’s this. Let’s say that you were reviewed in the LA Times because of your knowledge about Internet scams, Of course, you’d blog about that on your site, right?
Well, once you’ve written your blog, you can proactively search for CommentLuv-enabled sites, comment, and be rewarded with a direct link back to the post about your interview.
And if you visit and comment at dozens of commentluv-enabled sites, that’s dozens of one-way links back to something that really builds your credibility.
And if you have in place on your blog resources to build your mailing list, chances are….your list will grow.
And as we all know or have heard….the money is in the list.
Let me reiterate this point. When you achieve some sort of recognition on the Internet, you can blog about it…and the visit Comment-Luv enabled blogs to generate massive amounts of one way links back to your site.
Over the long term, this can translate into big profits indeed.

One thing that I’m curious about, Barbara. Why do blog owners use CommentLuv? What’s the upside for them? Is it simply that it tends to attract more traffic to a blog because people are interested in backlinks? If so are you getting the kind of traffic you really want by enabling this plugin? I look forward to your thoughts. Perhaps this could be a “part 2″ blog post idea for you.

I use it for many reasons. It helps build your community (you get more comments). It helps intrigue readers to learn more ABOUT the community (you proactively see the blog titles in the comments). And it’s part and parcel of the overall Internet philosophy I follow – do good.
I like giving links out from my site to valuable content. It helps being the Internet in a good way.

Mike… the main reason I think Blog owners use CommentLuv is it encourages other bloggers to leave comments (which they crave) because they want to get backlinks to their sites, as well as get readers to visit their sites through their enticing Headlines! It is a win-win plugin for everyone. I myself am having some plugin conflict on my site which is keeping CommentLuv from working right now, but my programmer should have it fixed soon.

Actually, I’ve been offering commentluv because I find it so useful when reading other folks comments at other blogs. Rather than clicking on a name you get to see the title and figure out if there might be anything of interest before you click.

Long term as in years. Done well, you can expect to see income within at least 6 months (assuming you’re building your list, your reputation online and the like). It only grows from there.
But remember – a 3 cent Adsense click is “making money”. You instead want to build a long-term business.
