Do YOUR fellow parents know the following yet?

Have your kids follow the Olympic Torch Route via Google Earth

Are your kids

following the Olympics and the protests and what not? If so, I just came across:

….The Beijing summer Olympics don’t begin until August 8th, but you can start to get in the mood now by following along with an Olympic torch tracker being run by the Google Earth & Maps team….

The Torch Relay map allows you to follow the path of the age-old flame, and learn about the cities it passes through as it makes its way across numerous countries and bodies of water. You can even embedding a customizable map in your own page …MORE….

I checked out the Torch Relay site mentioned. Woah, megaCool! Today, the caption read:

The torch relay will begin from the Wembley Stadium - site of the 1948 Olympic Games, then cross 10 towns of the great London area, and end at the O2 Coliseum in North Greenwich. A series of cultural and sports activities are planned to happen at Notting Hill, marble arches, Oxford Street, Trafalgar Square, and other well known scenic spots….

You can also follow the Chinese official website info about the Torch relay too! Gotta love the copy:

…The heavy snow in London exerted slim effect on people’s passion of seeing Beijing Olympic flame as large crowds lined along the street to greet the relay of torch on Sunday in the host city of 2012 Games….

“Exerted slim effect.” Oooooo, nice. :)

And if you’d like to learn more about th 2008 Olympics, check out:

Hope the above is useful.
