sometimes I think parenting is truly one of the most horrendous hero’s journeys one can take.

My boys came crying to me a few minutes ago - turns out the younger one told the eldest, go ahead, hit me as hard as you can. So he did…and missed his chest….and hit him in the throat.

“But mom! He told me to!” bleated my oldest.

Not missing a beat, I took him to the kitchen and handed him an extremely shiny object.

“Stab me”, I told him.

“Go ahead! I’m telling you to! DO IT!”

Needless to say, I made my point. My son started crying how he could never hurt me. So I asked him, then how could you choose to hurt your brother, even if he asked?

My gosh, I’m drained. There I was, happily writing my latest book and building my latest site, and this drama came to be. I really hope I made an impression on him.

Both boys hugged each other and are now playing quite happily.

And I’m a mess. Argh.

Methinks this calls for a fresh cup of coffee,
