I just received the following email, addressed to my Virtual Coach forums.

I just paid my $1.99 to join twitter and was given a link with the user name twitter and password profits. The link did not work. I would like to know what to expect. Will I receive something in the mail? Will I receive something by email? How will I be able to login? I tried to login on this home page and that did not work either. Please advise.

Well, if you’re on Twitter, you’re going to want to make yourself stand out above and beyond the Thundering Herd!

The following question:

How can I make good Twitter Backgrounds?

was asked at my forums, and I wanted to recap some neat ideas.

You can use Photoshop or its Open Source (aka free) cousin GIMP to design great backgrounds that will frame all of your critical tweets and compel people to want to learn more about you.

Specific Twitter Background Image dimensions vary, but the following seems to be popular:

Image width: 1255 pixels
Image height: 555 pixels
Left graphic width: 245 pixels
Right graphic width: 250 pixels

(what’s that? You’re suddenly seized by an insane craving to follow me there? Why certainly, it’s @barbaraling!).

But I digress.

Don’t set up DMs that tell me those hyped up unbelievable marketing claims. It makes me unfollow you with a vengeance.

Healing Horrific Reputation Manglement – The Dominos Pizza Nightmare

So!

Have you heard about the utter PR horror through which Domino’s pizza is doing?

Apparently one idiot employee decided it would be peachy fun indeed if he made a video of abusing the Dominos food customers ordered (we’re talking shoving the cheese up his nose, farting on the salami, etc..)…

And then posting the video to YouTube.

Talk about stupidity.

To wit:

…The video had been viewed more than 550,000 times by Wednesday.

For Domino’s, the PR response hasn’t been easy. The video reflects some of the worst fears consumers have about food purchased from restaurants. The video and discussion of it has moved on to Facebook, Twitter and dozens of other social-networking sites...MORE….

However, Dominos Pizza HAS indeed rose to the challenge – they started their own Twitter Account at @dpzinfo as you can see below:

and are doing everything they can to get the situation under control….including putting up their own YouTube response!

Track your name in Google news alerts. Google news alerts let you set up an "alert" that notifies you whenever your keyword shows up online. Set this keyword to you name in quote.
Track your Twitter ID in Google news alerts. Many sites are now republishing tweets so your comments are traveling far wider than Twitter.
Track your site/business name in Google news alerts. Set your alert for your business, your URL, etc.
Track your blog name in Google news alerts.
Track your email address in Google news alerts.
