Blog redesign, taking a break and more

Morning!

You know, I run several blogs and have expertise in many different industries. Recruiting, marketing, teaching kids, blogging, site building….I’ve just about done ‘em all.

Thus, I’ve decided to turn BarbaraLing.com into my flagship site and move my daily life/raising kids postings to this site (as it’s really my Mom site).

With that, yesterday! ‘Twas a very relaxing day, I will admit. The weather was utterly beautiful so I took the kids to the park instead of karate where they gallivanted about without a care in the world. I even challenged my eldest to a chinup competition on the Monkey Bars; suffice it to say, that was, ahem, an otherwordly experience.

Workwise, I built a grappling site for my BJJ! That reminds me of the time my husband bought Kid 1 a BMX bike that was $200 or so….to make up for the cost, I built a BMX site and several thousand dollars later, recouped the initial expense quite nicely.

Familywise, lessee….. I gently educated KidII on the dangers of slacking off at school (this will be her first and last warning). Since her cluelessness was not intentional, I have high hopes she will rebound as perfectly as KidI did. Oh! And I’m hip deep into preparing Camp Ling 2008 – KidI already has her Second Life avatar up and running. I’m holding off on buying World of Warcraft until after the Anime convention in June; they’ll be too hyped up on that to concentrate anyways. Sigh…and to think, I actually bought a Japanese Playstation II for anime gaming as well (that hasn’t been used now for 8 months). Ah well, live and learn.

Today is BJJ in the morning followed by Adult Self Defense (and I hope hope hope!) sparring later on. While still extraordinarily incompetent, I can honestly say I’m slowly but surely learning my game.
